EaseMyStudy (“we,” “our,” or “us”), a product of NeelCortex, is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and related services.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using EaseMyStudy, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you sign in we may collect:

• Email address and password (or session tokens from our auth provider)
• Student name and library enrollment linked to your EaseMySeat student record
• Information you send when you contact support

Study Data

We store data you create in the app, including:

• Timetable slots (subject, times, weekdays, reminder preference)
• Exams, syllabus chapters, topics, and topic status
• Quiz attempts, scores, and pass/fail outcomes
• Study session start/end times and wellness reminder settings
• Progress you choose to share via the system share sheet (text you generate)

Attendance and Presence

To mark library attendance for enrolled students we may process:

• Approximate location to check you are within about 50 meters of the library
• Current WiFi SSID to match an allowlisted library network
• Bluetooth signals from an EaseMySeat receiver (opaque receiver IDs only — we do not send personal data over Bluetooth)
• Check-in time, attendance source (Bluetooth, WiFi, location, QR, or OTP fallback), and optional coordinates stored with the attendance log

Location, Bluetooth, and local-network access are used for attendance. Denying these permissions may block automatic check-in; staff OTP/QR fallback may still be available.

Notifications

If you enable them, we schedule local notifications for timetable reminders, water intervals, and sitting breaks. These are generated on your device from your settings.

Automatically Collected Information

We may collect:

• Device type and operating system
• App version and feature analytics events (for example, quiz submitted, attendance marked)
• Crash reports and performance data

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide study planning, quizzes, wellness reminders, and library attendance
• Sync study and attendance data with the shared EaseMySeat backend when you are signed in
• Show progress rings and enforce quiz-gated completion
• Queue attendance offline and sync when a connection is available
• Improve reliability, debug issues, and respond to support requests
• Detect and prevent fraud or abuse of attendance marking

Data Storage and Security

Study data is stored on your device with SwiftData for offline use. When a backend is configured, we sync with Supabase using encrypted transport. Attendance logs written for your library may be visible to that library's EaseMySeat administrators.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We use industry-standard practices but cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information only in these cases:

• With your library: Attendance events so EaseMySeat admins can see who checked in
• With your consent: When you use Share to send progress text to another app
• Service providers: Hosting and auth (for example Supabase) that help run the app
• Legal requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights
• Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets

Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

• Access and update account details in Settings
• Sign out and request deletion of your account and associated data
• Turn off location, Bluetooth, WiFi, or notification permissions (some features will stop working)
• Request a copy of your data
• Withdraw consent for processing where applicable

Children's Privacy

EaseMyStudy is intended for students who can create an account, including minors using a library or school context. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without appropriate consent. If you believe we have collected such information, contact us immediately.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new policy on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Review this page periodically for changes.
